For you who has decided to build your own site rather then sharing with free hoster I would recomend you to find a hosting provider which provides a Content Management Systems (CMS) as part of the package.
What is CMS?
A content management system is the web software that lets you create a website without knowing any web programming skills, such as HTML, Perl, CSS, PHP, MySQL and such. Instead, you can put up a website by simply pasting your post/article from the Notepad and pressing the “Publish” button.
Normally, CMSs have their own structure, such as blogs, forums and general content management systems, such as Joomla, etc. However, there are other systems that let you create your own site structure and layout, such as Drupal.
There are many types of “CMS” applications, from simple to complex, which are designed to help you manage specific types of content or writing styles. For me I’ve selected Wordpress due to his simplicity. But I would advise you to check for other apps as well to suite your requirement.
Some of the CMS that you could consider:
- WordPress
- Joomla
- Drupal
- SiteDynamic Instant Website
- MoveableType
- Interactive Tools’ArticleManager2.0
- Interspire ArticleLive (advanced CMS)
- Ez Systems CMS
- Vignette
- Interwoven TeamSite
