Digg.com was down since the last 30 minutes, even when I was writing this post. “What does this got to do with you”.. I know you might be thinking of that with a big question mark. But hold on a minute, have you ever thought that this event will actually effecting your sites. Think of this:
1) While it is down, search engine spider is crawling your hot content on digg and sorry to say, it’s no more there.. this will definitely effects your backlinks. Even more if most of your backlinks comes from digg.

2) You’ve been putting your digg button on all your posts, hopping for some readers to push your digg up, but suddenly when they click on it, it’s not there.. Imagine what will your readers think of that..
3) You are so excited to digg a story that you’re definitely sure will make a boom and time is crucial before someone else post it on some other viral marketing medium you want to be the first to bring this thing out…Imagine how do you feel when you know it’s down…
But hold on guys… I don’t think digg is that cruel… when I first encountered this thing I have all those questions playing in my mind.. but being a technical person, I have put that in rest and start digging the digg..
I found out that only the main page was put down but the rest of the content is still up and running.. I believe they did this just to cool the traffic down a bit, especially access from the new and non tacky user :).. while they’re doing the technical part.. at least keeping their existing users and search engine spider alive.

Personally, I think they should have done a better way. Having a main page to be labeled as “Out of Service” doesn’t sounds good right.. Anyway.. I manage to capture this image with the FUNNY tag on.. will keep this with my other image collection.. who knows you’ll never seen this funny tag again after this post been popularize
(I hope)
